Does the UCI grant cover summer classes? ›

Eligibility. Financial aid is available to assist UCI students in meeting the costs of attending Summer Session. UCI Summer Grant funds and Direct Loans will be available to those students who meet eligibility requirements.

FAFSA aid can typically be used for any college term — including the summer. Just keep in mind that there is an annual maximum you can take out in federal loans, which includes the summer semester. Grants also usually have annual limits.

If you are required to take summer courses in order to complete your degree requirements, please UPDATE your EXPECTED DEGREE TERM on MyUCLA to SUMMER. Financial Aid will be offered for one eligible summer program (i.e. Summer Sessions, Summer Cross Campus, Summer Travel or Summer Institutes) per summer.

Cal Grant C Books and Supplies Students may receive a summer payment preceding their first year as a Cal Grant awardee. Eligibility adjustments are reflected in WebGrants.

The FAFSA will determine your eligibility for the whole academic year, including summer sessions. If you already have a FAFSA on file for the previous fall/spring academic year, you may not need to file a new one for summer. Your individual school determines which FAFSA application they use for summer sessions.

A: In general, you must be enrolled in six (6) or more units in the summer to receive a Federal Pell Grant. However, if you want to receive your full summer Pell Grant, enroll in 12 or more units that are considered full-time for summer.

To qualify for federal, state or institutional aid, you'll need to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It opens on Oct. 1 every year and stays open until June 30. You can also make corrections through Sept.

Contact your school to verify what award year you should apply for, especially if you're attending school during the summer. If you plan to attend summer classes, you should contact your college's financial aid office to determine which application is needed for summer sessions.

Do Summer Institutes have admission requirements? All Precollege Summer Institutes and College/Professional Summer Institutes require students to apply. All institutes will require both a transcript and a value statement. The minimum GPA to apply is a 3.2 cumulative GPA (unweighted) from grade 9 to present.

The good news is, UCI offers some of the most generous aid programs.

Grade Point Average (GPA) requirement: Undergraduates must have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least a 2.0 at the conclusion of the Spring term of each academic year.

You do not need to be a DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) recipient to complete the CADAA. The financial aid you get from each year's CADAA covers your time in college between July 1st through June 30th of that academic year. The CADAA is valid for Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer terms, in that order.

Continuing Students can secure summer housing by acquiring a 12-month lease in one of the American Campus Communities (ACC) or by arranging to sublet a space in one of the ACC communities.
