025 was guarding 069 closely when Bin bursts through the door, waking her.
“Guess what?” he yelled.
“what…” 025 answered as she wiped at her eyes.
“Team Leader said that if your background check clears and we get all the necessary documents then he & HR are on board.”
“Great. But I don’t have any ID. Want a fake passport? I have a forged birth certificate and driver’s license if that’s easier. It’ll pass the check and you guys can have something on record. No fingerprinting though I heard you guys do that.”
Bin stared at her.

She stared back.

“Wha–Oh. Ok. Ummm. I’ll talk with Team Leader & we’ll see if we can bypass it as you have recs & such. If not we can use your ID or/& help you get Korean citizenship as you are technically an–”
“I’m not staying that long. I’m just gonna stay for the next week & then once 069 recovers enough to get out of the hospital we’ll be out of your care. Can we prioritize just bypassing it but I can just feign ignorance for the IDs if you’d like. Believe me I’m REALLY good at it.”
Bin stared in disbelief.
She stared back.
“You know what? Sure. Give me a couple more days.” Bin remarks as he spins out of the room to make a phone call.

When Seokji jerked awake, he realized that his shift started.
Why did no one wake him?
I guess Monk is running late.
Hopefully he can convince Monk that he should guard inside while Monk guards outside.
It’ll be safer.
He readjusts himself and waits.
He glances at Ijin.
He’s gonna do everything he can.
He swears.

Monk can’t believe he’s late for his first shift
With Seokji no less.
He needs to talk to him about this whole situation.
To make sure he’s OK.
When he gets there though Seokji pounces.
“Can you cover the front & I monitor inside”
“That’s not protocol”
“Please?”
Monk looks into his bloodshot eyes.
“If you promise to take a nap sometime in this shift”
Seokji stares at him.
“Now that’s definitely not protocol”
“I know, so we’ll both be on the hook. Now stay. I have a doorway to protect”
Monk left.
Did I go too far? Was that mean? He had a weird look on his face. Did I make it worse? Why did I sign up for this shift?
He was going to think about this the entire 2 hours.
He just knew.

Holy sht.
Team Leader looked at the finished shift schedule.
24/7 surveillance for 2 months, 2 hour shifts.
1 person: Liam
2nd: Maya
3rd: The one called 025
4th: The one called 032
Coordinating a 24/7 surveillance, monitoring, and security detail.
No one else.
It was insane how much time each person had to put in.
What do these guys do anyway?
Team Leader decided to compare with the Ijin shifts.
Not surprising Seokji signed up for so many.
If it goes on for more than 2 months then he’s gonna have to institute max shifts per person.
But how much is too much?
As he was thinking of how to balance it his phone rang.
Bin.
“Hey boss the background check is a no go is there another way we can get her on payroll?”
Hmmm…
“Makes sense. We can keep her as an instructor on site but if she wants to do the field part of her job she’ll need it. I’ll look into it but I’ll tell HR to process her as if she’s an inhouse employee.”
“Roger. Thanks”

Yuna & Jiyhe still need protection.
It’s their job.
This is technically a combination of paid time off & free time but it’s not gonna go on forever.
Team Leader looks over to Ijin’s room.
Please wake up Ijin.

It’s calm.
Quiet.
Nothing really moving.
No feelings.
Just drifting in some jelly.
There’s some pressure, but Ijin can’t really decode it
Whatever it is. It just adds to the calm.
It makes him happy.
Maybe he should stay.
No pressure.
No bad.
No good.
No Nothing.
Ijin can’t count how many times he wished for this.
Figures pop out.
He can’t match them to the voices.
He’s just drifting.
Every day he thinks he starts to feel a little better.
Maybe this isn’t so bad.
But he’s going to miss someone.
Someones come to think of it.
Who know who?
He just misses them.
Wants to be around them.
For them to be safe.
But who’s who?
Eh.
He’ll go back if it keeps them safe.
But for right now.
He’s just drifting.
Jumping from idea to idea.
Each idea elicit something new.
He can’t quite put his finger on it.
But he’s fine right now.
Is that what matters?
Does nothing matter?
What’s the difference?
He floats…
He relaxes…
He thinks…
